Beats Music Launches. Why You Should You Try It
2014.01.22
Beats Music is finally here. But it is late. Will it be able to survive stiff competition from already established players? Can they take the same cool they did with headphones and apply it to music subscriptions? Maybe. Because the team at Beats has created the tightest, most streamlined path between your fingers and the songs you want to hear.
Beats Music works because it answers to Dre and a label boss. Trent Reznor signed on to help curate the music collection, and the day-to-day orchestration is handled by Scott Plagenhoef, a former editor.
Beats Music is run by tastemakers, whereas Spotify answers to VCs like Sean Parker. Beats Music cares more about taste than tech. The service serves up playlists according to your taste, and it is quite nicely tailored for music nerds.
The audio company's new streaming service went live in the US this morning, and you can go download the app for iOS right now.
