This isn't a case of "Samantha" becoming real, but Apple's latest acquisition is a company called Novauris. The speech recognition specialists has historically worked on patents and tech that sit at the heart of Siri. Is this her chance to come offline?

It's not clear what Apple will get Novauris to do or work on for now, but it would appear that they are looking to improve Siri's offline capabilities.
