Eibit Systems has created a visor-like device called Skylens. The tech adds an overlay of important flight information in front of a pilot's eyes when they can't rely on their vision due to bad weather or darkness.

Current Enhanced Flight Vision Systems (EFVS) have started putting that important information in front of pilots’ eyes with head-up displays and such, but Skylens takes that a step further with augmented reality.

It lets pilots wear a visor over their glasses, giving them an extra screen of information showing important flight data they need to fly an aircraft.

The Skylens design allows it to work with any existing technology in airplanes and helicopters. It is currently being reviewed for safety and could be in use by 2016.
