Apple Wants to Replace Your Wallet With Apple Pay
2014.09.10
Your smartphone is with you all the time. So it makes sense to combine your credit and debit cards into a single device. Why bother carrying a wallet already these days? Apple Pay is supposed to circumvent exposed account numbers, outdated magstrieps and vulnerable security codes. They want to be your new wallet.
The system allows users to make payments directly from their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus thanks to the phone's NFC antenna, Touch ID security, Secure Element privacy and Passbook.
Users can add their debit or credit card from their iTunes account by using their iSight cameras and then pay with the touch of a finger using Touch ID.
Apple Pay will work with American Express, MasterCard, and Visa and is coming to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users in the United States this October while plans are in place to expand Apple Pay worldwide in the near future.
