Apple is under suspicion of pressuring music labels to opt for its streaming music services over freemium ones like Spotify. Before its official introduction, attorney generals from New York and Connecticut conducted investigations into potential antitrust violations committed between Apple and music companies.

Did Apple pressure Taylor into leaving Spotify?

Apple's streaming service will cost the same as Spotify's at $9.99 and doesn't have a freemium model where the service is supported by advertising.  Investigators want to know if Apple pressured or conspired with music labels to withdraw their artists from freemium services.

Taylor Swift pulled all her music from Spotify before releasing her album 1989. She's joined Apple's music services after protesting Spotify for giving away artists' music for free.
