How To Be A Pro In Fortnite Mobile
2020.06.29
You may be good at playing Fortnite using a controller or a keyboard and mouse, but what about on mobile devices? Besides having an empire on PC and console platforms, Epic Games managed to push their prized game into the mobile market—rather successfully. If you want to be as good as how you play on PC or console though, you’ll have to learn a few new skills that are exclusive to Fortnite’s mobile version.
Quick shooting skills and being able to construct structures with a flick of the wrist is impressive, but what about when it comes to touch controls? What’s more, you’ll have to adapt to a smaller screen if you’re going to play Fortnite mobile. No 144Hz curved monitors allowed here! Luckily for you, we have some tips that we’re willing to divulge to help you climb the ranks straight to victory. Even if you don’t purchase anything from the Fortnite item shop such as skins and emotes, with our guide you can win it all without even spending a buck!
1. The Closer The Fight, The Better
In normal circumstances, this can be seen as a disadvantage for players. However, it’s a different story for the mobile version. The thing about playing Fortnite on a mobile device is that you can’t see things too clearly. This makes it difficult to shoot anything from afar. Thanks to the tiny screen and touch controls, sniping someone that’s more than 30 meters away from you is extremely difficult. And if you miss, you’ll alert other nearby players which, needless to say, isn’t good. Instead of using sniper rifles, we recommend equipping yourself with shotguns and SMGs. You’ll not only have an easier time at aiming but fighting up close lets you take advantage of your mobile screen. If you can’t find any of these items, you can use the Fortnite item shop or vending machine in the game to purchase one.
2. Enable The Auto-Run Feature
When it comes to Battle Royale, it’s all about being the last man standing. You never know when someone is waiting to ambush you, but you can’t just hide in a bush forever since you have to worry about the Storm. By using the auto-run feature, you can make your character run in any direction that they’re facing all the while scanning to the area for enemies using the camera controls by swiping your finger across the screen. Simply walking can not only make you more vulnerable, but also give you a hard time getting into the Circle when the Storm comes in—and that’s not good if you’re at the farthest part of the map.
3. Don’t Play Cross-Platform
The great thing about Fortnite is that you can play with people from different platforms. If you’ve got a friend that doesn’t necessarily play the mobile version of Fortnite but instead plays on their PC, then you can team up with them. However, we discourage you from doing so. When squading up, it’s better to have all of the players play on their mobile devices instead of a PC or console. Because if even a single member of your squad is playing on a different platform than you, you’ll be matched with players that are either playing on their PC or console. This puts you at a disadvantage if winning is very important to you. Not only will the competition be much tougher since playing with a mouse or keyboard or a controller is much better than a touch screen, but it’s almost impossible to get a coveted victory royale. Communicating with the voice chat can only can you so far, and there’s no denying that the accuracy when using a touch screen is barely passable compared to the peripherals of other platforms.
That’s the end of our Fortnite mobile guide! We hope you’ve learned a thing or two when it comes to playing Fortnite on your phone. Even having the best Fortnite items from the Fortnite items shop won’t cut it, sometimes it’s the skills that you need to get more of. So what do you think of the tips that we shared?
