Clockmaker Pierre Jaquet Droz opened his first workshop some 275 years ago. The company that bears his name to this day has created a fantastic timepiece that uses a tiny piston powered bellows to produce a chirping bird sound.

But the more amazing part is that the tiny mechanical bird flaps and moves its beak along with these sounds.

Pierre Jaquet Droz was also known for a series of complex automatons. So maybe celebrating the 275th anniversary this way couldn't get any cooler. Called The Charming Bird, the watch is limited to 28 pieces. And will presumably be so expensive you won't even want to know the price to it.

We hear it's close to half a million dollars. [Jaquet Droz via Time and Watches via Taxi]
