This Concept Cargo Ship Will Be Able To Cut CO2 Emissions By 80 Percent. How? (Video)
2013.10.03
The Vindskip concept's design from Norway's Lade AS will cut fuel use by 60 percent and CO2 emissions by up to 80 percent. That's incredible! But how is it doing all of that? By harnessing the wind of course.
The conceptual ship was modeled using aerospace design. And the body pulls the hull out of the water as liquefied natural gas-powered electrical generators propel the Vindskip forward. The wind created from its forward momentum will help it reduce drag.
For now, it's still on the drawing board, and nobody is sure it will be feasible in the real world just yet. Still, a very interesting concept. Check it out in the video below: [Lade AS via Cleantechnica]
