This Make-Up Lets You Activate Stuff By Blinking [VIDEO]

Even cosmetics are going through a tech evolution. A new range of conducting cosmetics will allow you to activate electronics with a blink of an eye.
The range was developed by Katia Vega and was recently shown off at the Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces conference at the University of St. Andrews, UK. It provides a way of generating quick, and simple micro-interactions.
It includes metalized false eyelashes and conducting eyeshadow and both use low voltage circuitry to detect when someone winks. Involuntary blinking is ignored, so you're not going to be turning things on and off just like that.
"Blinking is sensed via the conductive eyeshadow and the information can be sent to a circuit inside a headband, perhaps activating something via an infrared beam," explained Vega to New Scientist.
Vega used the system to launch a miniature drone and activate LEDs adorning her headwear. She claims that this will become a real thing, and pretty soon too. But really, the only people using these kinds of things? Perhaps a Lady James Bond? [New Scientist]
