What if you could sample food, online. That's crazy talk, isn't it? But these are crazy times. This unique synthesizer can simulate various tastes on your tongue.

The tool, developed by researchers from the National University of Singapore uses a silver electrode that you place on the tongue. It artificially stimulates the regions that is responsible for tasting sweet, sour, salty and bitter flavors.

It works by combining varying electrical currents and subtly shifting the temperature of the electrode. That process creates the convincing various flavors.
