Female Presenters Banned From Wearing Red Lipstick On Kid's Shows

The BBC has just issued new wardrobe guidelines for female hosts of kids' programming on the network, which includes banning them from wearing "red lipstick" while on air.
According to BBC executives, the network is very concerned with making sure that these young girls are shown positive role models that aren't oversexualized:
When asked whether the BBC pays attention to what female presenters wear, [Melissa] Hardinge [executive editor at BBC children's channel] said: 'We take that very seriously.
'We know that a lot of young girls will look at how our presenters are dressed, and no they shouldn't look too sexy."
Really, red lipstick? Seems a bit unfair, especially since the male hosts don't seem to be receiving the same amount of scrutiny from these execs. 'We know that a lot of young girls will look at how our presenters are dressed, and no they shouldn't look too sexy."
