Ever wanted to find out where that handbag came from? Or what shoes is that girl wearing? If you've ever wanted a piece of apparel worn by people you know, strangers on the street or even on style sites, this new app called ASAP54 can find it for you in stores. If not, they'll find you something very similar.

The app will ask you to crop out a photo of the item you're looking for and it will return with numerous results of similar items which can be purchased via the app's mobile browser.

ASAP54 launched on iOS on Friday and is allowing new users in on a cascading basis.

The app is made by Daniela Cecílio, previously of boutique fashion site Farfetch.

Cecílio got the idea for the app when she was frustrated with shopping online while trying to find the perfect item.

"You fall in love, you have an emotional feeling," she says. "It's a painful process to go to Google and put it into words."

If the app does what it says, it will save you a lot of time so you can narrow down exactly what you're looking for.

Cecílio says fashion is more diverse, due in part to camera angles, making a photo search less conclusive. If a search doesn't return a satisfactory result, users are given the opportunity to ask a stylist.

ASAP54 hopes to find a comparable match for items people are searching for. Will you use ASAP54?
