The 5 Most Boring People To Have a Conversation With
2014.07.14
As a rule of thumb, a good conversation usually happens when either party is a good listener. This is usually followed up with lots of laughter and all parties agreeing and harping on issues together. But sometimes, conversations can take a quick U-turn when either party's personality deformities start to show. Here are the most frustrating people to have a conversation with:
1. The always politically-correct guy
How so: Always trying to sound holier-than-thou and cramps the whole conversation with "Maybe he was there for a reason.." conversation killer lines. He, or she, will never agree with anything negative you have to say because they don't have an opinion that is interesting, or is too afraid to agree whatever you're saying is funny and / or right. 2. The politician
How so: The beat around the bush guy. Never definitive in conversation, and always deflecting any ownership in statements. He may also like to name-drop, because that's his second favorite past-time, after listening to his own voice.3. The righteous / diplomacy guy
How so: Everyone is right, even if they are wrong. Because, surely there's a reason to this. Diplomacy is the most interesting way to carry out a conversation, especially if you are this guy. Go ahead and continue. Because you'll be the only one left talking.4. The cynical motherfucker
How so: Everything sucks. It's incredibly depressing. Every word, every tone you hear from this guy is 200% negative. Not even a picture of a cute kitten can help this fellow. Or is spared from his negative passing remarks.5. The over-optimistic guy
How so: He beats the odds, but only in his mind. He sees the good in people, when really, they're just shit, and is the worst person to include in a conversation when you're busy bitching about someone. His idea of a fun topic is how Godly Steve Jobs was, and the world could be a right and better place if everyone just agreed...on everything? We are at some point, one of these guys, if not two or more at the same time. And while conversations are never nearly all in agreement on a topic, it is good to know your audience well enough before you bring on one of these ugly traits to the table. Happy conversing!
