1. Bo Derek – 10

Bo Derek made 10 in 1979, and became an instant sex-symbol when she ran in slow motion sporting a nude one-piece and corn-row braids.

2. Kate Upton – Cat Daddy

Kate Upton appeared in a video doing the "Dougie" dance at an LA Clippers game in 2011.. That video went on to get 9 million views, giving her, a relatively unknown model the attention she needed to jump start her career. A year later, she was doing the Cat Daddy dance and it went viral too. And she's in just about every magazine there is now.

3. Helen Mirren – 2008

Helen Mirren may be old enough to be your grandmothers, but she proves that a woman can look great in a bikini at any age. The photo was taken when she was 63.

4. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian uploaded this photo of her in a swimsuit to Instagram in October 2013 - less than four months after giving birth. It showed off her infamous curves.

5. Demi Moore – Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle

Demi Moore stunned audiences when she appeared in a tiny black bikini for the 2003 film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. She was 40 years at the time of this scene.

6. Phoebe Cates – Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Phoebe Cates momentous slow exit from a swimming pool wearing a red bikini happened in a 1982 comedy called Fast Times at Ridgemont High. It has become one of the sexiest swimsuit moments in history.

7. Carrie Fisher – Return of the Jedi

Technically, this isn't a swimsuit or bikini. It was slave-wear when Jabba the Hut took Princess Leia as hostage. The scene made her an ultimate sex symbol.

8. Raquel Welch – One Million Years B.C.,

Raquel Welch's bikini made her performance in One Million Years B.C. an unforgettable scene. But what's more surprising is that she only had three lines in the entire film. The photo also became one of the best selling pin up posters of the 1960s.

9. Marilyn Monroe – 1956

Marilyn Monroe's iconic one-piece white swimsuit have become a symbol for women and the importance of embracing their curves. She was apparently a size 10 when she shot this photo.

10. Pamela Anderson – Bay Watch

Baywatch made Pamela Anderson super famous. And the slow-motion running on the beach with that swimsuit on has been an unforgettable trademark of the show.

11. Ursula Andress – Dr. N0

Ursula Andress is the very first Bond Girl, but what made her even more famous was when she emerged from the water in the 1962 film Dr. No in a white belted bikini.

12. Farrah Fawcett – Charlie’s Angels

Farrah Fawcett was one of the original members of Charlie's Angels. Here is her promotional shot for the film in 1976 in a red Norma Kamali one piece suit. It was responsible for making Farrah a star and an iconic sex symbol of the 1970s pop culture.
