The Iwaki Soho High school in Japan was demolished in 2011 due to the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami. So a handful of graduates decided to get together to create this on one of the school walls.

Japanese webmagazine Tetoteonahama says that they used 27 liters of bright pink paint to create an alley of sakura trees.

The flower petals were handprints pressed by each student.

Titled "Okurie", it followed the artwork created by Yosuke Tan.

Okurie is used to create a living memory of the building and events that took place.
