Burberry's Oriental Strategy is Just So Ugh..
2015.02.06
Do you really want to emblazon a designer scarf with anything else? While it seems like it's a good idea, which is what the top dogs at Burberry thought, their oriental strategy seems to be backfiring. Here's what they did:
They put the Chinese character for prosperity embroidered on their scarf.
We're guessing they think since it's Chinese New Year, people would buy them like hot cakes.
But as it turns out, the Chinese positively hate it. We're guessing because this looks like a knockoff.
Also, it costs USD$919 to buy it, which makes it even more absurd.
