This is why everyone is flocking to Instagram to show off their works of art. It could potentially change the course of someone's life! Especially for Ida Skivenes, 30. She's a statistician-turned-food-artist and a very successful Instagrammer. She's also now, the author of a book called 'Eat Your Art Out.'

Ida creates simplistic designs of plated food.

She says, "I posted it on my newly started Instagram account that was really small at the time and I got some really good feedback. So I thought why not try out some more ideas of my own and that’s when I discovered my hidden talent — playing with food.”

She made simple pictures of animals and planes at first.

Then created even more complex images including monuments and imagery from fairytales.

It's really quite cute and good actually.

In January 2013, she gained over 10,000 followers in one day.

And then TV reporters started inviting her to breakfast to make a live guest appearance on Skype with "BBC Breakfast."

Ida now makes a living as a food artist.

Her book, "Eat Your Art Out" is available in seven different languages including Norwegian, English, Gemran, French, Dutch, Russian, and Korean.
