Simple Clay Pot Is Actually An Air Conditioner In Disguise
2014.02.06
Where would we be without air conditioners? While they might keep us
cool, they aren't exactly known for being particularly environmentally
friendly or stylish. And this Cold Pot might soon change all
that.
Designed by Thibault Faverie, this simple terracotta device will cool down any space by evaporating water. The process involves filling the two liter reservoir inside with water, which then seeps through to the outer the porrous terracotta surface. As the water evaporates into a gas, a quiet electric-powered fan helps circulate the air past a cold aluminum pipe and out into a room. Cool huh?
No word on whether they'll be putting this pot into production, but we sure wouldn't mind having one (or ten) in our home.
