There's a certain pleasure derived from watching annoying characters in popular shows getting killed off. Here are top most satisfying deaths that left television viewers smiling smugly at their screens. Warning: Possible spoilers ahead!

Nikki & Paulo on Lost

The writers of the show wrote the couple into the script in response to fans always wondering what the rest of the plane crash survivors who were never featured on the show were up to. Nikki and Paulo’s storyline was as a couple who had separated from the group, but the negative response resulted in the pair being killed off later on that same season.

Bill Henrickson

Bill Henrickson wasn't dislike because he was a polygamist; he was disliked because he was a smug, condescending martyr who acted more like a father to his wives than he did a husband. but his death on the series finale was still considered a huge shock to fans of the show.

Marissa from The OC

Despite picking up a lot of attention and press after the whiny teen beauty’s shocking death, the show's ratings were never able to recover and eventually ended that same season. The same can also be said about Mischa Barton's career...

Lori from The Walking Dead

Fans didn’t seem take well to Lori from the beginning, mainly due to the affair she had with her husband’s police partner. They also complained that she was useless and nagged too much, causing unnecessary tension between Rick and his partner Shane. Lori was eventually killed off in a brutally bloody scene while giving birth to baby Judith. In the end, there was nothing left to mourn but a puddle of Lori guts.

Adriana on The Sopranos

Writers intentionally wrote her as a spoiled, lavish, and very whiny mob girlfriend. She played the part a little well as most viewers found her character at the very least tolerable. Having her killed for ratting out to the FEDs helped keep the suspense of the show up and thus the ratings.

Clay on Sons Of Anarchy

Fans either loved or hated this inside-villain. When viewers grew restless with the show, the writers finally gave them what they wanted by having Jax kill a repentant Clay who admitted that he knew he had it coming.

Andrea on The Walking Dead

Another character from the popular zombiefest show that was disliked from the very beginning, even more so than that of Lori. But it was the plot line of her love affair with the governor, whic basically served as the final nail in her proverbial coffin.

Brody from Homeland

He was a soldier, then a terrorist, then a double agent on the run turned drug addict. When it all became too much for fans, Brody was publicly martyred while his only supporter Carrie watched on. Brody’s death was received well with hopes that it means the show will finally take on a new story arc.

Hank from Breaking Bad

Hank was never well-liked among fans, so when he discovered Walt’s identity, you knew his time on the show was quickly coming to an end.

King Joffrey from Game Of Thrones

Those who read the book already knew this was coming, but the infamous villain's death still sent the internet into a frenzy. King Joffrey ended up biting the dust (or poison, if you will) on his wedding day, dying in his mother’s arms with puke running down the side of his face. A delicious death indeed.
