Someone Held an Insane Orgy Party at an Airbnb House, Resulting in $75K Damage and Semen...Everywhere
2015.05.05
This might just be the nightmare Airbnb never wants aired out. A Canadian couple return home to discover their house has been trashed and destroyed after renting it out on Airbnb. The police explain it as the result of a 'drug-induced orgy.'
“We have banned this guest from Airbnb, and our trust and safety team will offer its full assistance to law enforcement in any investigation of this incident. We have been in very close contact with these hosts and we are working quickly to reimburse them under our $1 million host guarantee, which covers a host’s property in the rare event of damages. Over 35 million guests have stayed on Airbnb, and property damage is extremely rare.
This is Mark and Star King. They rented their home out in Calgary, Canada, only to find it had been utterly devastated with broken furniture, shattered glass, used condoms and more.
The couple left their keys and home to their new houseguests who they thought they could trust, and believed it was used for four adults in town for a wedding. Except...
It was used for one insane party.
When they arrived home because of all the complaints and texts they received, they were unable to enter their home because Airbnb deems the renters as legal tenants during their stay. The couple had to plead with them before they finally evacuated.
The house was soiled with bodily fluids like urine, vomit and semen.
Thankfully, Airbnb has a $1 million host insurance guarantee, but that's not going to take away the memory of the horror. According to a spokesperson:
We have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour and our team is working quickly to make this right.“We have banned this guest from Airbnb, and our trust and safety team will offer its full assistance to law enforcement in any investigation of this incident.
