The very fact that you're not supposed to have it, must be the reason why something is so sought after. Some rich Chinese are now spending a ton of money to procure these miniature monkeys. The only problem: it's illegal to keep them captive.

They are dubbed "Thumb Monkeys" and they are the world's smallest ones.

The going price is supposedly 30,000 yuan ($4,559).

While it is illegal, it doesn't look like it's stopping some wealthy people to procure them.
