Nottingham has pleasant weather throughout the year with an average temperature of 22 degrees celsius in the summer months of June and July, the average low temperature of 1-degree Celsius in the peak winter months- December and January which can also lead to Snowfall. Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is the city's modern tram system which provides a quick and easy way to get across Nottingham. The Tram is the best, and affordable way to travel in and around Nottingham. Tickets are bought from machines at tram stops (cash and card are accepted) or from the NET shop in the city centre. You must purchase a ticket or validate a travel card before boarding, or you risk a fine and imprisonment. 
 
Nottingham bus services are provided by two main companies, trentbarton and Nottingham City Transport (NCT). You will never be short of buses to get you around. There are also buses available travel to/from the University of Nottingham & Nottingham Trent University, making it easier and convenient for students. 

Students can purchase the Robin Hood student academic year or season pass, which is more convenient than buying a ticket with cash – the card works it all out for you. There are options available- Adult and Under 19 for use on the Tram and most bus operators. You can top-up your card and add amounts of £5, £10, £20 or £50 at any on-street ticket machine; maximum balance is for travelling around the Robin Hood Network. Keep a check on your card balance; maximum balance you can have on your card is £100.
