Read a Few Key Words to Improve Your Sleep
2013.09.18
A new study discovered a simple trick to coax your brain to getting a better sleep. Researchers from Southern Illinois University, SUNY Buffalo, and St. Mary's College found that exposure to sleep-related words like "cozy," "calm," "rest," and "relax," positively affected participants' sleep.
Volunteers slept 47% longer during a brief nap and also had a significantly lower heart rate during sleep. In a followup study, the rest related words also helped people with sleep problems.
Men's Health suggests leaving sticky notes or notecards with these words on them around your bedroom or in places you'll see them in the hour before bed. Or you could read the words before you sleep.
Will it work? Try it, and let us know if your consciousness was affected by this little trick or not.
