Out in the woods with only a can of cola and a penny and you just ran out of electricity? Turns out you can actually use a cola can with a penny to create a battery.

YouTuber and Instructables user Go Repairs demonstrates how to make this happen in the video above. You only need the following:

• A cola can
• A copper coin (like a penny)
• A can opener
• Crocodile clips
• Wire wool

Remove the top of the can with a can opener and clean it out with wire wool. Then, pour the soda back inside, and clip one crocodile clip to the penny. Then clip one to the edge of a can and drop the penny into the cola.

The dirty soda battery will power a small LED. Not enough to give you some juice to call for help if you're out in the wild for sure. But holy heck, this is some MacGyver shit.
