My my, how the mighty have fallen. Remember earlier this year when it was reported that Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries says that they will never cater to plus-sized people?

Based on the company's plunging shares, it seems that Jeffries might have to mince those words, bake it in some humble pie, and eat it. A&F's shares reportedly lost 30 per cent of their value in 2013.

In act of desperation, Abercrombie announced they will start selling stuff to plus-sized customers in 2014. The plan involves offering women's clothing in larger sizes by spring next year.

While we like to think all the fat-shaming affected their brand, this mostly has to do with how fashion retailers like H&M and Forever 21 are able to quickly and cheaply turn around the latest fashion trends, while A&F is stuck with more basic styles built around their brand name.
