Watch MIT Researchers Have Fun With This Morphing Table [VIDEO]
2013.11.15
The amazing morphing table that can record 3D images in real time finally returns with a proper video demonstration. This 'iNFORM' table is actually a dynamic shape display designed by the Tangible Media Group of the MIT Media Lab.
The display is attached to a grid of “pins,” which are long square-topped rods placed underneath that rapidly move up and down in order to form those 3D shapes. After synching to a special camera, the images can then be rendered by the display allowing the user to manipulate an physical object from a distance. The display can also be used to create 3D data visualizations and models.
