In case you didn't catch "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" on the big screen, here's a MAJOR SPOILER: Nick Fury ends up faking his death as part of a bigger master plan to take down HYDRA.

Basically, that means Fury will return in "Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron," but don't expect his character to get a lot of screen time. Here's what actor Samuel L. Jackson revealed to BuzzFeed:
"The [Avengers sequel] is not about Nick and what S.H.I.E.L.D. is going through... We're going to skip over him in an interesting sort of way."
This definitely isn't the first time that Marvel has faked a character's death in their movies. Below are a couple more examples on characters getting killed off, before mysteriously showing up as though nothing ever happened:

Agent Coulson in "Marvel's The Avengers"

Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) gets his chest blown in "Marvel's The Avengers," but ends up getting revived in the ABC series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Pepper Potts in "Iron Man 3"

Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) falls to her "death" during the third act of the film, but the Extremis serum that Aldrich Killian injected her earlier saves her life. After helping Iron Man to defeat his enemy, she gets surgery done to become normal again.

Loki in "Thor: The Dark World"
