BitTorrent Inventor Says His Goal Is to Kill Off Television
BitTorrent inventor Bram Cohen says that he is insistent that peer to peer sharing is the future of the way we consume media. Cohen demonstrated on Monday his P2P live streaming protocol at the San Francisco MusicTech Summit and it should be capable of streaming live video across thousands of computers without any central infrastructure.
"My goal here is to kill off television," explained Cohen. He has his sights set on using the system for video conferencing, live streams of video game tournaments — or even live sports events.
