Presenting Milkmaid, a unique home appliance that's been hailed as the "smart milk jug". This winning concept was a real hit at the GE and Quirky contest.

The device works with an app that connects with the Milkmaid jug, which is embedded with high-tech features such as sensors, GSM radio module, antenna, SIM card and a rechargeable battery. The jug will provide instant stats on the status of your milk, such as temperature, expiration date and how much milk is left. The app can also suggest recipes for regular and spoiled milk, and allow users to re-order milk via online grocery delivery services.

Currently it's just a prototype, but they might make it happen if demand for the product is strong enough. Until then, you're going to have to rely on your nose and tastebuds to figure out if your milk's gone sour.
