Two Israeli graphic artists aiming to bridge the sociopolitical divide between Israel and Iran have started a new campaign that works by sending out simple messages of love. And judging by the response, the campaign is yielding some very promising results.



According to Israeli paper of record Ha’aretz, “Israel Loves Iran” was started by a married pair of graphic designers from Tel Aviv, Ronny Edry and Michal Tamir.

The campaign began attracting responses from Iranian Facebook users over the weekend, and more are being added every hour. Many of the Iranians participating in this campaign have chosen not to identify themselves, obviously for fear of arrest or other reprisals.

Still, the message is being heard loud and clear, and the campaign’s creators want to ensure it gets louder and clearer. Their next move involves turning to crowd funding site indiegogo to  raise funds for print ads, billboards, and an even a billboard spot overlooking Times Square.
