The folks who made the viral iPhone 5 concept just envisioned something even more awesome for the iPad 3. An edge to edge retina display and 3D multiplayer hologram for gaming. Of course, this is probably not going to materialize in the real iPad 3 coming out March 7th but we'll keep our hopes up anyway.

The clever video from Aatma Studio, who's iPhone 5 concept features (video below) raked in 50 million views on YouTube. They take it a step further from what they've already come up with. Check out the iPhone one first below:

Aatma studio toys around with the option of 2560 x 1140 resolution edge to edge retina display, and gives the allusion of a larger visual screen area. It might just be possible already with today's tech, and its not unlikely if we should see this in the say, iPad 4 or 5?

“Although the tablet form factor is great, we felt the need for a larger visual real estate,” Pramod Modi Shantharam, the CEO and animation director at Aatma, told Mashable. “We eliminated the black border of current iPad and thought it would be a great visual experience for users who bring their iPads together utilizing their internal magnets.”

“Consider a scenario where a family of four brings their individual iPads together at an airport while waiting for their flight with a master iPad controlling all screens,” Shantharam added. “This could facilitate new original forms of media content in the future.”

Then, there's a 3D multiplayer hologram for gaming. Game controllers project out onto the surface of the table while two players can play a game of football with the help of the two combined iPads.

“The 3D holographic display was a popular feature in our iPhone 5 concept video and we wanted to extend that to the iPad,” Shantharam said. “Users could experience a three-dimensional floating holographic screen with combined iPads, making it an exciting use case for multiplayer games.”

I would sure as heck would love to get my hands on this, if it exists.
