Don't you just hate hearing your parents or grandparents say how much they could eat and still not get fat in their day? We have proof of why we're all so fat today, as told by this infograph we ran earlier this year.

So in short, the difference between food back in the 50s and today is their portion size. According to the CDC, meals are now four times bigger compared to what they once were and as a result, people are about 26 pounds heavier.

What they're trying to tell you is that if you eat more than your body needs, you'll gain more weight than you want. So portion your food and start eating smaller meals. Nobody's telling you to starve yourself. Just eat moderately and stay away from supersize deals.
