If you steam often, then it's likely you already own a steaming basket. While these aren't terribly expensive, here's an even cheaper alternative which requires a pair of disposable pie plates:



As the video explains, all you need to do is poke some holes in one of the pie plates, flip it upside down in a pot or dutch oven and add some water. Roll out the other one as flat as you can make it, put the parchment paper on top, and poke holes through both of them. via America Taste Kitchen
